Final Post

"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature."
                                                                                       -Frank Lloyd Wright

It is a really entertaining and on the other side very informative thing to do- to observe. While doing this project I did research not once and now I know some things that I never knew before. I just read all of my previous posts and I realized how interesting is to compare the things that I see today to the things I saw when I just started my observations.
One season can change a lot. In other words, by the touch of fall trees loose their leaves, birds fly away, bunnies hide and flowers disappear... Every living things gets ready for cold winter. Actually fall is my favorite season. It is when usually weather stops being that hot and becomes nice and cool. It is when the trees put on their beautiful dresses: some are yellow, some are orange, some are red.
If telling the truth, I am a little sad because autumn is over. We have to wait a whole year to see that beauty again.
Returning to observation project. I am pretty sure everybody extracted a lesson from this. Lesson being useful or not is everybody's personal choice.
I learned that we should be more open to the world around us. We should let the nature take us to their world and let them show us their beauty.

"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better."
                                                                                        -Albert Enstein

Week #5

Chilly. The trees are indicating the presence of fall by their bright colors. Trees in my backyard are yellow and some of them even red or purple. The wind is blowing them all down so our lawn is covered with dry leaves. I love stepping on them because they make that crunchy noise. I used to do it when I was a kid and I still do it... Moving on.

I would like to take a moment to talk about the tree with purple leaves because I find this interesting. According to my research it is a purple leaf plum. I haven't seen any fruits on it since I am living here, but I really want to see it in spring. "Fragrant pale pink to almost white flowers blossom in early spring before the leaves emerge, attracting bees." ( http://treegrowersdiary.com/plumfacts.html )

On Saturday I went outside to sit on the porch. It was quite windy. And actually the weather that day was inconsistent. I've noticed part of the sky that was blue with pretty white clouds and other part of the sky was full of dark gray clouds. That looked very unusual and interesting. It seemed like if the sky was warning us that the weather is going to change. Few hours later it was dusty and windy outside, the sky was completely gray. I hoped that it will rain but it didn't.

On Sunday I saw a bunch of quail. They make me laugh because they walk really fast and funny. My host dad told me that they used to throw some bird seed outside and quail would come in flocks and peck it all. The quail got used to it and came to the same place at the same time every week and wait for seeds. Smart birds!
