Introduction

English class assignment. Here is the deal- we are observing something we have an easy access to during the week in our journal. Then, we write the week reflection- the overall impression of what we have observed, here in blog format.
Well, I think this project is an interesting thing to do. It develops the sense of being more attentive to the world around us. It is very important issue nowadays. Why issue? Because most of the people are "stuck" on their phones all the time(I am not an exception). We stopped paying attention on simple things that can actually make us feel better. I like the idea of spending maybe even couple of minutes to try to observe something we've never noticed before.
At first I decided humming birds to be my subject of observation, because there were a lot of them in my backyard and I think they are absolutely amazing creatures. But the problem is that they are gone now. I still have a picture that was taken by my host father. I think it was pretty hard to make this shot, because these birds move really fast!

 Anyways, I had to change my subject of observation. Now I am focused on my backyard. I've already made a weekly observation and I would say that my observations were intense this week. For  example, I found a giant pine cone in my backyard. It is huge and I'm not exaggerating- I've measured it and it is 12 inches long. That might sound not really convincing but here's the evidence.

 Well let me tell where did it come from. It was not naturally in our backyard. My host parents brought it as a souvenir from one of California forests.

Also I observed several types of birds. One with a red breast and small in size, another one had a lock of feathers on its head and was bigger in size. Unfortunately I don't have photos of them, at least not yet :)
