This week I tried to focus on trees only because they are slowly turning yellow and it is kind of interesting to watch them and compare what I have seen today to what I saw yesterday. Mostly I did that but other little creatures caught my attention as well.
I saw several types of birds- the red-breasted tiny one according to my research is a finch, the ones with a lock of feathers on the forehead are quail. I am sure I am going to observe other types of birds, because I see a lot of them in my backyard.
Also this week I confidently can tell that fall arrived to Reno. Although the weather was inconsistent from day to day (warm/chilly). Couple of trees in our backyard have yellow leaves and that is very pretty. They are not completely yellow yet and I like to see the contrast of summer and fall colors. It didn't occur abruptly. I've noticed that from day to day. For example, on Sunday just a few leaves started to turn yellow, to the end of the week approximately 2 dozens of them turned yellow as well.
Although the trees are turning yellow, the grass in our backyard is still green. I am quite sure that this is the reason of little cute creatures wandering in our backyard. Those are...bunnies! Cottontail bunnies! I saw the first one when I was sitting on the porch and heard something rustling in a bush. I walked to the bush as slow and as silent as I could but that was not quiet enough- little bunny ran away really fast. Now I see them a lot and every time I try to chase them they run away so fast that I regret that I was blinking!
